Vree

From The Great Machine

The Vree are a member race of the League of Non-Aligned Worlds. They have grey rubbery skin and large black ovoid eyes, making them appear similar to the aliens that appear in alien abduction stories.

They are arguably the most advanced of all the League worlds, having a solid grasp of gravimetric principles and anti-matter reactors, putting them on par with the Centauri and just below the Minbari in scientific development.

The Vree 'speak' using placards bearing strange designs resembling crop circles. This is their only on-screen method of communication, though very little has ever been seen of them, thus making any detailed communications breakdown somewhat difficult.

Vree do not regularly participate in meetings of the League on Babylon 5. It is possible that they contribute via remote or simply do not care about League politics.

The Vree's resemblance to "abduction aliens" is probably more than coincidental; in 2258, in S1E09, Grail, Ombuds Wellington handled a trial against a Vree whose grandfather allegedly abducted the grandfather of a human plaintiff.

The Vree joined Sheridan's alliance against the Shadows in 2260.
