[edit] Todo List
- Episode Guide Project
- Expand the content, especially summary info (this is an area where even the Lurker's guide is a bit sparse).
- Create/adapt Battlestar Wiki Episode Data template.
- Have a semi-automated link in the episode data to the Lurker's guide to the given episode.
- Pictures! (At least one for the template.)
- Citation Crusade (or whatever you want to call it)
- Equivalent of BW:CITE.
- ALL articles need to be vetted and have canonical info sourced, and non-canonical information yanked.
- Character Project
- Expand the content of all the characters, but particularly main characters.
- Develop and implement a uniform character template.
- Main Page/Navigation Project
- Overhaul main page, possibly add some featured content sections.
- Analyze what the "core articles" are, and make it as easy as possible to navigate to them.
- Examine new skin/css options.
- Categories Project
- Analyze current category structure, and modify if necessary.
- Once finalized, apply categorization scheme to ALL existing articles, and ensure that new articles follow the scheme.
- Policies Project
- This one is pretty major. Examine the existing policies. Add/modify as needed.
- To a certain extent, enforce them. This is theoretically an "admin" job, but in reality if we're to succeed we'll need everyone on board.
- Might look at canon policy, spoiler policy.
- Maybe create an equivalent to BW:SAC?
- Analysis/conjecture guidelines. (Example: Battle:Severed Dreams. Analysis is fine, but the "in-universe" tone is kind of confusing. Maybe just marking it as analysis and taking the voice out of universe might be more clear.
- Cast/Crew Project
- Develop and implement a uniform cast/crew template.
- Create/expand cast/crew articles.
- Pictures!
- General Maintenance Issues
- Spellcheck as we go. Firefox 2 has built-in spellcheck (finally), so let's take advantage of it.
- Upgrade to newer version of mediawiki. (I want my "noinclude", damnit.)
- User pages... everyone should have 'em. They're a sign of investment, and help promote community.
- Wal-mart greeters. It's simple, it can actually be pretty impersonal, but it can really help retain people. I known Spencerian's canned greeting helped to reel me in at the Battlestar Wiki. (I didn't realize it was canned until later.)
- Interwiki. An interwiki link to the Battlestar Wiki (and other major wikis) will help make linking to them easier (and more transparent to users).
- Stub template causes false positive on "self-linking" list.
