I'm Ed. I live in San Antonio, Texas, USA, and work for Palo Alto Community College, teaching Applied Computer Science courses to Adult Continuing Education students. I'm divorced, with 3 living children (1 deceased), 1 adopted daughter, and 3 stepchildren.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and served for several years in the U.S. Air Force.
I've been involved with computers since punch cards in 1977, can dance my way around a DOS prompt like few can; I now primarily work as a continuing education instructor, with sideline work as a home PC builder/repairman, and home internet security consultant. I hold CompTIA certifications covering both PCs and networks. Over the last year, I've discovered and developed a strong fondness for Ubuntu Linux. Its now my primary home OS.
I enjoy SF movies and television that are socially conscious and politically relevant (B5!!!) to the world around me, as well as the outdoors, reading, swimming and playing guitar.
