Wouldn't he actually be married to Lise Hampton-Edgars now? During S4, she was referred to with the Edgars name.

I guess that's a matter of opinion. Remember, once she left B5 bound for Mars, she sent him a message as "Lise Hampton", rather than "Lise Hampton-Edgars". Then again, Garibaldi never listened to it. --Keno 23:38, 18 Jan 2006 (CST)
On top of all this, with Edgars' death, Lise could go back to her maiden name with no issues. --StarChild 00:48, 21 Jan 2006 CST
In fact, Lise never took Franz's name, she was still known by her maiden name of Hampton in 2258. She then hyphenated her name to Hampton-Edgars in 2261. Garibaldi joked she would become Hampton-Edgars-Garibaldi in S5E20, but sanity obviously prevailed, since Sleeping in Light Franklin refers to the "Edgars-Garibaldi empire". I'll fix this over on her page, and create a redirect from Lise Edgars-Garibaldi. -- Waylander 00:10, 9 January 2008 (CST)

[edit] Place of birth

When was it said Garibaldi was born in New York? I thought he said he was from Mars. --Keno 21:45, 18 December 2007 (CST)

According to the voice-over info published on the official Season 1 DVD, Garibaldi's cursory biography claims he was born in New York. The phrase "new york" is only heard three times in the series: S3E10 Severed Dreams, when shock troops are on the streets; S3E22 Z'ha'dum, when Garibaldi mentions it's snowing there to convey a message to Sheridan; and S4E11 Lines of Communication when Number One claims Franklin's reassurances are as crazy as claiming she could sprout wings and fly to New York. Although "mars" is mentioned in 55 different episodes, I couldn't find where we are told Garibaldi was born there. Do you know where this Mars info came from, Keno? -- Waylander 00:10, 9 January 2008 (CST)
Thought: What about "Brooklyn," "Queens," or The "Bronx." I believe Brooklyn made at least one mention. Sanfam 00:01, 10 January 2008 (CST) (Doh)
Jerry Doyle, the actor who plays Garibaldi, certainly was born in Brooklyn (16-Jul-1956), and JMS is known for inserting actor details into their characters (see Franklin). Wikipedia claims he was "born and raised on Mars", while almost every other site claims Garibaldi was "born on 2 [or 23] February 2221 in the Bronx"! Luckily though, truth isn't democratic! I'll need to check when I get back to my own computer which has all my DVD sub-title files.
Hmmm... Apparently these different dates seem to be estimates, based on the fact his 38th birthday is celebrated in A Distant Star (and Survivors claims he was 37)! [1] [2]. Still need to search sub-titles for place of birth, though. -- Waylander 06:41, 15 January 2008 (CST)
I've just double-checked my DVD subtitles. The words "Brooklyn" and "Bronx" do not appear during the series, at least not verbally. "Queens" appears once in S3E13 when Arthur refers to three Queens of Avalon, and twice in S5E01 when Lesharr refers to the Queens of the Gaim. I've checked "born", "grew", "growing", and there's no info relevant to Garibaldi. In S4E16 he mentions that Mars nearly killed him three times before, but the way he claims Humans have no business being there implies to me that he wasn't born on the planet. Anyone have any other ideas to help find the definitive answer? Until we find any further info I guess we have to assume that he was born in New York. -- Waylander 02:28, 22 January 2008 (CST)
