Proxima 3

Proxima 3 was the Earth Alliance's first extra-solar colony. It is located in the Proxima System.
Proxima 3 was colonized on June 10, 2165. It is a central commercial and transportation point. Rich deposits of Quantium-40 make this system very valuable.
In December 2259 Proxima 3 was the site of a bombing attack by Robert Carlsen. Carlsen used a batch of explosives stolen from the ice-mining operation on Vega 7, a Centauri colony. The exact amount of damage done by the bombing is not known. Carlsen was later arrested on Babylon 5.
Proxima 3 seceded from the Earth Alliance in 2260, demanding that President Clark be impeached. It was later recaptured and blockaded by Earthforce. Ships participating in the blockade destroyed civilian and humanitarian transports, which resulted in John Sheridan leading the White Star fleet to liberate the planet in 2261.
