Passwords are a means of verifying access to users of a computer system.

Typically, it is accompanied by a user name in the form of a code word ("peekaboo") or phrase ("Hello old friend.").

Passwords may be entered manually through an interface or spoken.

Usually, a form of voice recognition software would be used to identify the speaker, although such voice recognition software is fallible (see: "Born to the Purple").
