Pak'ma'ra

From The Great Machine

The Pak'ma'ra, also known to the other races as the Carrion Eaters, were members of the League of Non-Aligned Worlds. The reason for their other name comes from their eating habits as they are known to eat their own dead, as well as the dead of other races, for ceremonial purposes. They speak through a personal translator when interacting with other races. Interestingly, at certain times of the year, the Pak'ma'ra sing a very beautiful song, which reportedly brought hard-hearted Londo Mollari to tears. (Sleeping In Light)

Upon joining the Interstellar Alliance, some of the Pak'ma'ra joined the Rangers. Due to their cultural habits, the Pak'ma'ra were an enigma to the Ranger trainers. Delenn suggested they be used as couriers since most of the other races prefer to avoid the Pak'ma'ra.

The Pak'ma'ra are known for their unique brand of humor which tended to end with the line "properlly cooked" as well as a number of cat related jokes. President John Sheridan visited the Pak'ma'ra homeworld before the 10th Anniversary of the Interstellar Alliance. (LE01 - Voices in the Dark)
