Every few standard years, the Drazi people form into two sides by a random lottery. These two sides, known by their sash colour of green or purple, fight for one Drazi year when their victories are tallied. The side with the most victories becomes the ruling class until it is time to begin the process again.

According to Max Eilerson, the Drazi do not have a word equivalent to "discretion". the drazi sometimes find it difficult to speak english as they only speak in macros(The Rules of the Game)

The Drazi are known to worship a single deity known as Droshalla.
