Ostensibly one of the 'background' people in Command and Control, or the "bridge" of the Babylon 5 station, Lieutenant David Corwin is the ersatz emotional barometer for the lesser crew (non-command staff) of the station as they pass through gut-wrenching political intrigue at home, various attacks and two full-scale wars. Thoughtfully not brought into the resistance cell, though once considered for inclusion, he's a fine indicator of Earthforce crew mood.

- Reported as Second Lieutenant in S2E14, And Now For a Word (although according to Earthforce ranks he should really have been referred to as Ensign);
- Promoted from Lieutenant (Junior Grade) to Lieutenant, with the promotion celebration following at Earhart's, in S3E07, Exogenesis.
