Babylon 4

From The Great Machine

Jump to: navigation, search

Babylon 4 was the only Babylon station to become fully operational before falling victim to the "Babylon curse" (see also: Jinxo). Twenty-four hours after going online, Babylon 4 vanished without a trace from its position deep in Sector 14 along with 1300 crew including the commanding officer supervising the completion of the construction, Major Krantz.

Built partially from the remnants of the previous Babylon stations, Babylon 4 was larger than Babylon 5 and had its own propulsion system. It was coloured green and was situated close to the location of the previous three Babylon stations: Sector 14.

Spoiler warning: Plot, character development, or ending details follow.

It is later learned that Babylon 4 was actually taken back in time by The Great Machine on Epsilon 3 around which Babylon 5 orbits. This was done for the purpose of providing the Minbari with a base of operations in the last shadow war. Jeffrey Sinclair and Zathras accompany the station back through time.
